Loppemarked

Norwegian call it loppemarked. In England it is known as jumble sale. In Indonesian, I would say pasar barang bekas. But in general, this is a special market place to buy second hand stuff. This is a good way to reuse the things, I love it!

Norwegian, and I think all the Nordic people, don't do the loppemarked in the whole year. You might not go to any loppemarked in the dark and extreem cold days, do you? Then, it's good to know when and where the market will be held.

In Trondheim (this is the only city I know well in Scandinavian countries) the loppemarked season starts from the middle of Spring (March) until the end of autumn (November). But they stop doing this in the middle of summer because not so many people are around.

What we get from this market? General talk, almost every houseware you can find with good price and mostly still in good condition. So if you are new in Trondheim, please do not rush to buy new furnitures, clothes, etc. A winter jacket for example, might be cost thousands of krones. That much! Loppemarked sell it for about 50 krones. But if you prefer to get the new one, there is another option to get a good price. Wait until the Crazy Day and you will get the crazy prize =D

Back to loppemarked, there are some information sources to find when and where it will be held:
